  • What is guaranteed?

    At Harveys you can buy our sofas with confidence as all our sofa frames and seat springs attached to the frame are guaranteed for a period of ten years from the date of delivery against structural manufacturing defects.

    Extra peace of mind

    This ten year structural guarantee on our sofas is in addition to Harveys comprehensive one year guarantee which covers all Harveys products against manufacturing defects for a period of one year from the date of delivery. Therefore you can be reassured that your sofa frame construction and seat springs attached to the frame are guaranteed as set out above for an additional nine years after our one year guarantee ends.

    Ten years of available parts or replacements

    If your product fails as a result of a manufacturing defect within the periods covered by these guarantees the product will, at our discretion, be repaired or replaced. In all cases we reserve the right to inspect the product to verify any fault. A call out charge of £50 will be payable to us to inspect the product for any product covered by the ten year structural guarantee after a period of 12 months from the date of delivery. This call out charge will be refunded to you should it subsequently be found that the product is indeed covered under the terms of the ten year structural guarantee. Any repair will be free of charge of parts or labour. If a repair is not possible we reserve the right to replace your product with a product of an equivalent specification. Please note that if your product forms part of an order (for instance a two and three seated sofa) only the product that we have confirmed as having a defect within the terms of the guarantee will be repaired or replaced at our discretion.

  • We offer these guarantees to all our customers who are resident and have an address in Great Britain and Northern Ireland. The ten year structural guarantee is applicable to our sofas ordered on or after 26th December 2015.

    These guarantees are given and are limited to the original purchaser of the product from Harveys. It is therefore not transferable to any other person or body. If you sell or dispose of the product in any way then the guarantees comes to an end. If you take the product outside the United Kingdom, the guarantees also comes to an end.

    Ex-display furniture, and Harveys clearance items (e.g. customer returns and refurbished seconds) are reduced in price to reflect their history. Accordingly they are not sold as new items and may not be in new condition.
    Due to these reductions and the history of this furniture such product is not covered by our guarantees.

    Harveys products are intended for domestic and private use only. These guarantees only apply to transactions with consumers. These guarantees do not apply in any commercial, business or re-sale purpose, and we have no liability to you for any consequential loss, loss of profit, loss of business, business interruption, or loss of business opportunity. Our liability is limited to the order value at the time of purchase.

    If we decide we cannot repair or replace your product then we will reimburse you up to the value of the purchase price and we will take ownership of the product that has been replaced. Please note that if your product forms part of an order (for instance a two and three seated sofa) we will only reimburse you for the product that we have confirmed as having a defect within the terms of the guarantee. Any reimbursement will be reduced to take into account the use of the product since delivery.

    Should we repair or replace your product under any of our guarantees, then the repaired or replaced product will not have a new guarantee in itself but will instead enjoy the benefit of the remaining term of any original guarantee.
    • Damage through misuse, abuse or deliberate/wilful damage.
    • Accidental damage or damage through negligence by you or any third party.
    • Product that has been assembled or stored incorrectly (e.g. damp or in direct sunlight).
    • The warping of wood due to extreme changes in room humidity or direct heat source (such as air conditioning and radiators).
    • Normal wear and tear which includes wear and tear caused through staining, excessive soiling, interior settlement and flattening.
    • Should there be a transfer of dye from items such as non-colourfast plastics, fabrics and clothing (including denims and throws) or alternatively damage or delamination from contact with hair body and cosmetic products such as tanning lotions.
    • Commercial or institutional use.
    • Damage through failure to follow the instructions contained in our care guide or any instructions (including, but not limited to, any manufacturing instructions) given with the product on delivery.
    • Any item where alteration or repairs have been carried out.
    • Clearance and refurbished product.
    • Failure to follow the terms of these guarantees. In particular, proof of purchase of the product in question is the responsibility of the customer, and needs to be provided by the customer (see How to make a Claim below).


    As optional extras we do have care kits available to keep your product in the best possible condition and/ or care and protection insurance* to cover against accidents that can happen in the home; terms and conditions apply please refer to our in store leaflet and/or ask staff for details.

  • These guarantees are in addition to your statutory rights (including under the Consumer Rights Act) which are not affected by these guarantees.

    Harveys has the sole discretion to decide whether to repair or replace the product in question and/or to reimburse the customer as set out above. Harveys also reserves the right to amend or withdraw either or both of these guarantees at any time although for the avoidance of doubt any guarantees that are in existence at such a time will be honoured.
