Time in bed 'craved by many'

A beautiful bedroom may be highly desirable

The bed is one of the most desirable places to spend some time, a survey has suggested.

Extra time in bed is something the majority of people crave and some would even lie to get it, according to a new survey.

The study by the Sleep Council found six-in-ten Britons intend to spend the extra hour in bed this weekend – enjoyed as a result of the clocks changing – by staying under the duvet.

It also revealed more than a third have lied to their boss in order to take a day off sick just so they can stay in bed.

Jessica Alexander of the Sleep Council says: "A luxurious day in bed with no work, no pressure and no hassles is seen as a real indulgence."

New bedroom furniture may be particularly popular in London, with the poll showing this is where people are most likely to fib to their employers.

Earlier this week, terrysfabrics.co.uk blogger Helen Green recommended wooden furniture in the bedroom combined with a grey colour scheme.
