Light woods 'are perfect for bedroom furniture'

People may be wise to do up their guest rooms at this time of year

Bright colours, light woods and a personal touch are things to include in a bedroom, says one blogger.

There are plenty of ways to create a young, vibrant and modern bedroom that includes touches of personal style, says an expert.

Author of terrysfabrics.co.uk blog Helen Green suggests the room is one in which people can have the most fun when it comes to decorating and furnishing.

She notes a bright and airy space is essential as it brings out the best in the colours used, while light woods should be chosen for bedroom furniture.

The writer goes on to explain homeowners should add features such as pale floors and window treatments that allow the influx of light to be controlled.

One colour scheme put forward by Ms Green is a combination of lime green and white, which she says is "anything but dated or conformist".

Last month, the author had recommended seemingly the opposite of such a style to teenagers, naming black as the most sophisticated colour they could opt for.ADNFCR-2589-ID-800056503-ADNFCR
