Leather sofas 'are easy to clean'

Black leather is easier to clean, it has been suggested

Purchasing a leather sofa could help homeowners to keep their houses clean, it has been claimed.

Individuals who think of cleaning as a dirty word should consider purchasing leather sofas for their properties, it has been suggested.

Abbie Wightwick, writing for the Western Mail, stated that not everyone likes to put maximum effort into maintaining their residence and so they should instead follow a few quick tricks to achieve spotlessness.

Investing in black leather furnishings is one option, she said, as these can be wiped clean quickly and easily.

Ms Wightwick even joked that a bit of colour can be added to items by dumping the ironing pile on top of them.

"Always buy sofas and beds with feet so you can kick detritus underneath in emergency situations," she added.

Homeowners were also advised to try and avoid inviting guests over during the day, when light could potentially draw attention to disorganised areas of the house.

The popularity of leather sofas was highlighted earlier this year by the Times, with the newspaper predicting a surge in interest for such furnishings in 2010.ADNFCR-2589-ID-19674476-ADNFCR
