Owners of leather chairs can eradicate greasy marks on their lounge room furniture by using saddle soap, it has been suggested.
People with leather chairs can use saddle soap to remove persistent stains, it has been claimed.
According to Reena Norbis, while the product may be too abrasive for constant application, it can be used occasionally to tackle blots, Network Media reports.
Responding to a reader requesting information on how to get rid of a dark stain on her leather chair, Ms Norbis also recommended a top tip for eradicating oily residue on furniture.
She stated: "Smooth on a dry paste of baking soda and water to soak up the grease mark. Leave for one hour. Remove paste by scraping with a plastic putty knife, brushing, or vacuuming."
Those with lounge room furniture were advised to continue this process until the blemish has disappeared, making sure to rinse rather than soak leather chairs before letting them dry.
The Daily Telegraph recently noted that a weekly clean of a leather sofa and leather chairs is preferable to prevent dust destroying the fabric.
