Expert: Choose bedroom furniture carefully for shared children's space

Paper 'can add spark to bedroom furniture'

Bunk beds, lamps and bedside tables are ideal in a bedroom shared by several children.

It is important to choose wisely when selecting bedroom furniture for a space in which more than one child sleeps.

The recommendations made by Helen Green, author of the terrysfabrics.co.uk blog, are targeted at parents with more than one youngster.

She noted bedroom tables can be a good choice, as these often match and can be part of an overall style, along with lamps.

It is also important to get the right bed in place - and in many cases, due to space constraints, this could be bunk beds.

Ms Green explained these can often have more than one purpose, stating: "We are talking about clever built-in storage and those with pull-out beds that can give way for a play or study section within the frame."

Earlier this week, the same writer advised people with young children in a nursery to opt for medium-coloured wooden furniture, which she said carries a "timeless" appeal.ADNFCR-2589-ID-800076300-ADNFCR
