Dress up dining room table for autumn feel

Change dining room furniture for 'funky new update'

The dining room table could be one of the most important items of furniture during autumn.

People hoping to create a little bit of autumn magic in their home may be wise to focus on their dining room table and its decoration.

Helen Green, writing a blog for terrysfabrics.co.uk, says what she looks forward to most at this time of year is "the return of real food".

Dishes such as fruit crumble, casserole and warm soup will soon be back on the menu and placed on dining room tables across the country.

But ensuring the key piece of furniture is looking at its best is vital, with Ms Green recommending the addition of new place mats and other items.

"Celebrate the return of good food and good company in your dining room with some new table decor," she states, before adding people should look for decorations "that have a little shimmer".

The same writer recently spoke of the importance of choosing the right colours when designing an autumn style, with dark green and brown said to be just right.ADNFCR-2589-ID-800052894-ADNFCR
