Dining room furniture may be right for pubs

Dining room furniture can be used in a variety of roles in different spaces

Choosing the right furniture for a pub can be tricky.

Choosing old, traditional dining room furniture may be one of the most consistent trends among landlords decorating their pub.

But this has partly been replaced in recent years by the trend of sofas and modern items in such establishments.

However, Ian Broughton, writing for the Morning Advertiser, suggests this is not necessarily a good idea, as when a person sits on a sofa in a pub others can be put off joining them.

Instead, established dining room furniture such as tables, chairs and other wooden structures could be considered the best options.

"Comfort is a big word in pub furnishing. All licensees want their customers to stay, but there are right strategies and wrong ones," states Mr Broughton.

Pub bosses who simply want to give their property a makeover as the end of summer approaches may wish to take on board the recent advice of Helen Green, author of terrysfabrics.co.uk's blog, who said red and gold are the best seasonal shades.ADNFCR-2589-ID-800048054-ADNFCR
