Dark wooden bedroom furniture 'creates masculine feel'

One writer believes dark wood is the key to making a home feel masculine

One writer believes dark wood is the key to making a home feel masculine.

Those looking to give a room a masculine feel should consider dark bedroom furniture, it has been suggested.

Writing for Terry's Fabrics, Helen Green said a combination of black and white will produce such an effect in a loft bedroom, with the walls and pleat curtains in white and the bed in black.

"Black is complimented by a dark wood floor for an almost masculine feel," she stated.

With the other furniture also being dark in colour, the duvet should be white, she suggested.

Such a bedroom will be "proof that even minimalist decor can be dramatic".

While making sleeping quarters look good, bedroom furniture should also be comfortable to ensure a good night's sleep, it has been asserted.

Jessica Alexander of the Sleep Council noted those who do not sleep well suffer from more illnesses than others and their tiredness causes a lack of concentration and impaired performance at work.ADNFCR-2589-ID-800223050-ADNFCR
