Coffee tables 'can be the beginning of big changes'

Coffee tables 'can modify the image of a space'

These smaller tables easily allow homeowners to alter the feel of their house.

Changing the books on a coffee table could be the impetus for larger scale transformations in a room, it has been suggested.

As part of a spring cleaning ritual Suzanne Kasler, quoted by the Associated Press, advised changing accessories around the home.

Although she does not have a separate set of furnishings for the summer herself, the interior designer advised that spring can be welcomed with thorough cleaning and redistribution of ornaments.

Design author Stan Williams was cited in the same article, he said: "Move the furniture around, change the direction of the rug, re-evaluate your window treatments for the change in light, take down the drapes and roll up the rugs."

He went so far as to propose that people could paint old tables and even move indoor furniture outside.

Rearranging items in a room can also be a way of selling a house, according to Harrison Murray estate agents who said that, as not everyone shares the same taste in photos and oddments, it is a good idea to pack them away before viewing.ADNFCR-2589-ID-19653902-ADNFCR
