Coffee tables could be considered an essential piece of furniture in modern homes.
Coffee tables with wooden tops and metal bases are one of the most in-trend and fashionable items to have in a room at the moment.
Leah Margolis, writing for Deliciously Determined, says the items of dining room furniture are commonly found within a range of properties.
While they are of course popular with owners of residential buildings, coffee tables are now found "everywhere from living rooms to lobbies", notes the author.
"They're placed in chic, modern rooms, industrial, rough spaces or sometimes in more traditional surroundings," she adds.
Those with a coffee table in a room may also wish to follow a recommendation to coat it with a finish, such as polish or varnish, every so often.
"While the design stays the same, the finishes totally change the look of the piece," Ms Margolis explains.
