Coffee table could be used as centrepiece for lounge

Coffee tables 'can modify the image of a space'

Homeowners might want to consider investing in a coffee table, following suggestions from one expert.

A coffee table could be the perfect centrepiece for a sociable living room, one writer has suggested.

In a piece for Oneindia, Suparna Chakraborty noted the space should be decorated to help guests feel more comfortable and relaxed, as it is a sociable area that is often "the introductory room of the house".

She explained lounge room furniture should, therefore, consist of rod iron or low wooden chairs - if space is limited - as well as a coffee table made of glass.

However, the author stated if there is more room available to the homeowner, it would be a good idea to invest in a large wooden sofa, alongside two or more "sleek" chairs.

Ms Chakraborty added those sprucing up their living room may want to consider installing "big windows with glass panes", flanked by "decorative heavy curtains".

Her comments come after Helen Green explained on the terrysfabrics.co.uk blog that a coffee table could provide a stylish look in an open-plan bedroom. ADNFCR-2589-ID-800135572-ADNFCR
