Britons 'buying uniquely patterned sofas'

Red sofa 'perfect for Christmas'

There has been a rise in the number of sofas with vibrant patterns being sold in the UK.

The recession has inspired Britons to look for vibrant, funky patterns when it comes to buying a new sofa.

According to the Times, the sofa is "the heart of [the] house" and where everybody will end up after a long day.

However, more and more people are beginning to see sofas not only as a functional product but as a design feature that can create a particular look in the home.

"Leather is still popular - its latest reincarnation is brown and worn - not black - but the latest word in sofa style is garish patchwork in a variety of fabric textures, preferably involving velvet," the newspaper explains.

Another prominent trend is the rise of patchwork sofas, which can now be found in a number of homes across the UK.

Buzzin News this week urged people to invest in a new sofa, with the process never having been "so easy", it suggested.ADNFCR-2589-ID-19793270-ADNFCR
