Bedroom tables 'must match the bed'

Bedroom tables must be the right size

It is important to get the scale right when purchasing bedroom furniture, one expert has suggested.

People hoping to invest in a new bedroom furniture collection for their property should ensure they buy items in scale.

Writing for Scripps Howard News Service, interior design specialist Mary Carol Garrity stated that the bed is "the star of the show" and can often overshadow items such as bedroom tables.

Beds are the central attraction in most sleeping areas, she explained, so purchasing bedroom tables that can compete in size is a good idea.

"Flank the bed with similarly scaled side tables because tiny bedside tables will be dwarfed by the bed," Ms Garrity added.

According to the expert, one option is to purchase a small desk as this will hold its own against even the largest of king-sized products and can contain lots of accessories.

In an article for the same publication earlier this year, she advised homeowners to rearrange furniture if they have to stick to a strict decorating budget.ADNFCR-2589-ID-19680032-ADNFCR
