Bedroom table 'important part of relaxing sleeping space'

Paper 'can add spark to bedroom furniture'

Homeowners have been advised to invest in bedroom tables by an interior design expert.

The use of a bedroom table is one step towards creating peaceful, relaxing and idyllic sleeping quarters, according to an expert.

Helen Green, writing for Terrys interior design blog, says the practical pieces of furniture not only add storage but symmetry too.

"Place matching bedside tables and lamps either side of the bed. This will not only provide symmetry - it's also a logical and practical way to place bedroom furniture," she states.

Homeowners could choose bedroom tables and other furniture from a range of materials, such as oak, to match the style of their room.

Another recommendation to help balance a bedroom is to use lengthy curtains and numerous and comfortable pillows, as well as cushions.

Ms Green has this week been debating the merits of various shades of blue - from cobalt to electric and duck-egg - which she believes are ideal for sleeping areas of the home.ADNFCR-2589-ID-19739841-ADNFCR
