'Always consider design' when buying lounge room furniture

Those buying lounge room furniture need to always consider their original design.

People buying new lounge room furniture should always keep in mind their original design when on their search.

Lounge room furniture seekers should try to ensure they always have the look they want to achieve at the back of their minds, one expert has explained.

Writing for the Toronto Star, regular Ontario Today contributor David Ferguson explained it is important people buying new items make sure they focus on their original design and how certain furnishings will fit in the room.

He was responding to a query from a reader, who was struggling to decide what types of lounge room furniture to include in their oddly-shaped living area.

The consumer noted they had only been able to choose the end and coffee tables so far.

In addition, Mr Ferguson explained suggested people could become more bold with their design.

"It might help to allay some of the fear of mixing materials such as brass and pewter, baskets with glass and different colour woods," he said.

This follows advice from Daily Telegraph writer Lisa Grainger, who recently observed pairing hard and soft shapes together works well in a property.
