Learn About Leather

Aniline Leather

Aniline is the most natural form of leather which has a remarkably soft, supple feel and a beautifully refined appearance that retains all the natural and individual characteristics of the hide. Only the very best hides can be used to produce aniline leather as it receives no chemical treatment or pigmented finish.

The absence of a top coating helps the leather breathe more easily, makes it cooler to sit on and results in a more natural, delicate finish that is more susceptible to scratching, soiling and absorbing liquids, therefore requiring a little extra care.

Semi-aniline Leather

Semi-aniline is a luxurious and soft top grain leather that combines the suppleness and classic feel of untreated hide while providing some stain protection through a light surface coating.

Like aniline, semi-aniline leather is aniline dyed in a dyebath to achieve an even colouration. This careful process means that only a thin finishing layer is required, enabling the leather to retain its soft feel and natural characteristics.

Coated  Leather

Coated leather has a stunning high-gloss finish that is achieved from the application of a film of coloured polyurethane. This coating provides “the look” and also makes the leather more resistant to everyday spills.

Leather

Our genuine leather is perfect for the modern day home. This stunning, real leather withstands the pressures of day to day living and is better at maintaining its beautiful appearance over time.

It’s easy to see why this leather is so popular; any blemishes and imperfections have been removed and an even pattern embossed on to the surface to achieve a consistent look all over. A protective layer is used to coat the leather, making it more durable and stain resistant, and helping to keep it looking great.
