2010 is a historic 50th year for Coronation Street. As the proud broadcast sponsors, Harveys are working with ITV and some other partners to bring you a host of events, promotions and general celebrations to make this a year that is truly memorable.

The first event - Harveys Casting Couch
Harveys first 50th Birthday celebratory event is the Harveys Casting Couch. Record yourself performing one of 3 iconic Coronation Street scenes and upload this on to the Harveys website for your chance to win a day at Coronation Street with the stars.

How to enter
Simply download one of the iconic scenes available from here and record yourself performing this whilst seated on a sofa. Don’t see a script you like? Record your own Coronation Street script of 45 seconds or under and upload this to enter too.

There are 2 scenes for two people to perform and then one with a solo part. If you don’t have another person to perform with you, then it's perfectly fine to record the main part of the scene and then have someone either reading the other lines behind the camera, or leaving these out altogether – you could even read both parts yourself if you wish – it's entirely up to you! Likewise if the part was originally performed by a man and you are a female – feel free to go for it. Whichever way you choose though – you must make sure that you follow the scene exactly.

Just bear in mind though, that the main person doing the recording should be the name that the competition is registered in. If you and your friend both want to enter, then you should both record a version performing the main part and enter each of these in to the competition.

Once you have made your recording of the scene, then you can send it to 0777 4681 593 or e-mail this clip direct from your mobile phone to CastingCouch@Harveys-Furnishing.co.uk following the instructions here or you can upload it to our site using our online form. All of the entries will be monitored to ensure that they follow the scene exactly and that they are in no way offensive so there may be a delay before your recording goes live.
